Angela,

I recently married in the Greek Church in London so I can tell you what I learned from that. As I am not Greek Orthodox the issue of religion came up. The priest told us that as long as I was of a Christian denomination except Catholicism we could marry in the church. You definitely want to check with your church whether that applies.

As for standing at the alter - my husband and I stood in the middle in front of the alter with my bridesmaids to the left of me and his bestmen to the right of him. Not sure if that helps!

As previously mentioned there are no vows. Also, the best man who performs the crowning must be Greek Orthodox. I think that's it for restrictions!

Good luck! I thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony so would definitely recommend it.
