But surely you're allowed to stay in Greece up to 3 months before you have to serve national service. That's my impression from Greek friends that live overseas, many of them have visited for periods under 3 months and have not had to serve. You may be called upon to register for national service upon entry into the country, but I'm sure you're able to visit for 3 months before national service becomes compulsory for you. You would be best served to check with the ministry of defence here in Greece or the Greek embassy in Washington for the facts of the situation.
