But, what your boyfriend may be indicating is something much larger than just a theological difference between you, he may be summarizing cultural difference between you - that he encapsulates with the concept of religion. And Orthodoxy is a very large part of Greek culture, so he may well be telling you he's sensing too many cultural differences between you for him to want to settle permanently with you. If this is so, at least he's letting you know now, and not a wedding and a couple of children down the track. At least he's indicating that he knows what he wants for a long-term partner and is sparing the both of you the pain of potential divorce and family break-up. Respect his self-knowledge and sense of pragmatism. Good luck to you both.
