Well, I'm looking for proof...because this is not what I was taught in college about the Ottomans. There's the professor from Crete...Angelou I think...that has written that, although there were *some* schools like this, it's largely a myth. Also, I haven't yet seen a reputable, mainstream, academic historian who agrees with this assertion.
