Joanna, the word "tzifos" (= τζίφος) really exists. It is something like slang and means "apotyxia" (= αποτυχία) = failure, flop.
So, Olga, I would be a little bit more optimistic than Joanna and would write to the person in case that you are interested ;-) He seems to regret that the meeting in the restaurant did not take place and obviously he would like to get (again) in contact with you.
