: The fact is that the Albanians are the only indigenous people of southeastern Europe. No mainstream historian would deny their connections to the Pelgasians and Thraco-Illyrians. The Albanians have been in the Balkans for over 10,000 years, long before the ancient Greeks, andcertainly before the modern Greeks (the so-called neo-hellines) who migrated from Anatolia some 1500 years ago.
