: : : Hi! I am thinking of names for my (upcoming) baby girl. We are planning on naming our daughter after my husband's mom, accdg to Greek tradition. My MIL's name is Eftihia. I need as many ideas as possible for names for my daughter as I'm not to keen with calling her "Eftihia"; I'd like something a little more "anglocized", yet still European/Greek sounding. Thanks for your ideas!!!

: : That translates into Joy, but I don't think you want to call hewr that. The only name that I can think of for you to call her would be Effie. Maybe other people can come up with some better ideas.

: what aboutSophia (don't know the meaning) or Zoe (life)- They're used in English and Greek, or Maria, Christina, Stella..... or you could be a bit more flash with something like Athena or Aphrodite! I think its a bit much now days to expect to have the MIL's names passed on - fashions change etc. Good luck!
