Trying to find origin of last name (COMAS)

I am trying desperately to get some information on my last name ~ which may have been shortened at one time. Unfortunately my father, his parents and siblings (along with any links to my heritage) have all passed away.

If anyone can shed ANY light whatsoever on my name, I would be greatly appreciative!
